An octogenarian hospitalized in Lyon (Rhône) accuses a caregiver of sexually assaulting her, Le Progrès reported on Monday. The patient had been treated in the geriatric ward of the Edouard-Herriot hospital since June. Suffering from a fractured femur, she was unable to wash herself and had to wait for caregivers.
According to her granddaughter, the grandmother dreaded this routine every morning. The octogenarian reportedly confided in her that she had been subjected to "insistent" gestures: caresses on her chest, attempts at kissing... She also admitted that she had hidden a knife to defend herself. "My grandmother is completely sane. She couldn't have made this up," Laura added.
